CHARLESTON, W.VA.— ON FRIDAY, JUNE 29, THE NINTH ANNUAL CHILDHOOD LANGUAGE CENTER FIRECRACKER 5K WALK/RUN WILL TAKE PLACE ON THE KANAWHA BOULEVARD IN CHARLESTON.

LAST YEAR’S RACE RAISED $20,000, WHICH PROVIDED A YEAR’S WORTH OF SPEECH LANGUAGE THERAPY TO 8 CHILDREN.

This event raises money and awareness about the Laurance Jones, III Childhood Language Center, which is a free speech and language therapy center for children in ten different West Virginia counties.

This year, the race will begin at 6p.m. prior to Live on the Levee. The goal for this year’s race is to raise $25,000, which will sponsor ten children at the Center for an entire year.
